Three-quarters of the world’s volcanoes are located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. It is an arc that stretches from New Zealand up through the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and all the way down to the Andes of South America. Along the way it passes through Guatemala which is home to over 30 volcanoes, four of which are active.
