Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal
The Notre Dame Basilica is a landmark of Old Montreal. Its main construction took place between 1824 and 1829. Once completed, it was the largest church in North America for over 50 years. The western tower houses the 11-ton bell, christened “Jean-Baptiste,” while the eastern tower houses a carillon of 10 bells.
