The Melendiz Stream flows through the scenic Ihlara Valley, a 16 km gorge cut into volcanic rock in Turkey’s Cappadocia region. The area is especially unique because of the history of its ancient inhabitants. The underground dwellings and churches carved into the entire valley date back to the Byzantine era.
