The hippopotamus is a large, primarily herbivorous mammal found in sub-Saharan Africa. They are the third-largest land mammal in the world, behind only elephants and rhinoceroses and are often found in large groups. During the day, they remain cool by staying in water or mud, as captured in this recording from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
