The Mendenhall Glacier is one of the most popular attractions near the capital city of Juneau, Alaska. At over 12 miles long, the glacier is constantly moving and carving out the landscape of the Coastal Range Mountains. During the summer, the glacier is home to a dog sledding base camp where Iditarod dogs stay in shape giving visitors a ride.
