Hurricane Pass
Off the west coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico is Caladesi Island. Rated as America’s best beach in 2008, it was once a part of a larger barrier island with Honeymoon Island to its north. A major hurricane split the islands in 1921 and the waterway in between is still known as Hurricane Pass.
