Baseball was introduced to Japan in 1872 and has been one of the country’s most popular sports ever since. The Nippon Professional Baseball League was formed in 1950 and it is the highest level of competition in the country. The Tokyo Swallows are one of 12 teams competing in the league and they play their games in Meiji Jingu Stadium, where this sound was recorded.
