Bamboo has been used as scaffolding for centuries in China. Many of the country’s landmarks, including the Great Wall, were built using this technique. Introduced to the city of Hong Kong in the 1800’s, the practice is still used today, but is in a state of gradual decline. The assembly of the scaffolding and the beeping of the crosswalk signal in the background creates a unique sound in the bustling city.
