Garinagu
The Garifuna are mixed-race descendants of West African, Central African, Island Carib and Arawak people and have been living in Central America since 1797. One of the best places to see the Garifuna spirit in action is the village of Hopkins in Belize. The villagers are dedicated to preserving their culture, including the Garifuna language, cuisine, dances, and especially their music. The friendly locals welcome visitors with traditional drumming, performed in front of the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.
