Gamla stan
Stockholm’s original city centre is known as Gamla stan, or the Old Town. It consists of Stadsholmen Island and the islets of Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen, and Strömsborg. The Old Town was established in the 13th century, but most of its buildings are from the 1700 and 1800s. Visitors to this beautiful and historic part of town are often entertained with street performances, like these singing water glasses.
