The Sistine Chapel is part of the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope. The chapel is best-known for the frescos that decorate its interior. Painted by famed Renaissance artist Michelangelo and restored between 1477 and 1480, this masterpiece has been bringing in visitors for over 500 years.
