Salt
La Fe is a beach located on the western coast of the Galápagos Island of Santa Cruz. It is a popular place for snorkeling, and the beach is home to a large number of marine iguanas. These iguanas are endemic to the Galápagos and are the only species of iguana that can swim and feed in the ocean. They have evolved a specific nasal gland that filters out the salt that is ingested while feeding. The iguanas then blow the excess salt out of their noses, as can be faintly heard in this recording.
